ARRI ZEISS B Speeds
Introduced in the mid-1970s, Zeiss B-Speeds are the original generation of Zeiss high-speed cinema primes. Their fast T1.4 aperture makes them well suited to low-light photography and shallow depth of field. A defining feature is their unusual nine-blade iris: out-of-focus highlights appear round at full aperture and take on a distinctive triangular shape as the lenses are stopped down. With their vintage heritage and unmistakable bokeh, B-Speeds offer a distinctive creative option within the Zeiss prime family.
